Monthly Dishcloths has two KALs (knit-a-longs) each month. The beginning of the month KAL is always a "picture" of something related to that month (e.g., hearts for February, turkey for Novemeber). The Love2Knit group does KALs more sporadically and unscheduled. Here is my first Love2Knit cloth, the End of Spring KAL -

All of the KALs are mysteries. You don't know what you are knitting ahead of time. Six to 10 lines of the pattern are posted each day until you have the whole pattern. You are given guidelines for a color of yarn and needle size.

Besides the KALs, the groups have exchanges, contests, and bingo and serve as a good site for people like me to go for help from experienced knitters.
